The London Stock Exchange is delighted to welcome TUI Travel plc to the Main Market.
On 19 March 2007, the boards of TUI AG and First Choice announced that they had agreed the terms of a recommended merger of TUI Tourism and First Choice to create a leading international leisure group, to be called TUI Travel PLC.
TUI Travel PLC is a leading international leisure travel group which operates in approximately 180 countries worldwide and serves more than 30 million customers in over 20 source markets. TUI Travel PLC is headquartered in Crawley, near Gatwick airport in the UK. It employs approximately 48,000 people and operates a pan-European airline consisting of 155 aircraft. The company mainly serves the leisure travel consumer and is organised and managed through four business Sectors: Mainstream, Specialist, Activity and Online Destination Services.
