The London Stock Exchange congratulates Yamana Gold on the company’s admission to the Main Market.

Yamana Gold is leading intermediate Canadian gold producer with significant gold production, development and exploration properties and land positions in Brazil, Argentina and Central America. The company has five producing mines, three development stage properties and numerous world-class exploration concessions. Yamana Gold’s annual production is estimated by increase from approximately 600,000 ounces of gold in 2007, to more than one million ounces of gold by 2009.
With a market capitalization of £2.4 billion, Yamana Gold is one of the fastest growing gold producers in the industry. The company plans to continue to build on its success through the advancement of its exploration properties and by targeting other gold consolidation opportunities in Brazil, Argentina and elsewhere in the Americas.
“Given Yamana’s status as a leading intermediate gold producer, and the growth still to come, our move to the main market of the London Stock Exchange is the next logical step in raising our profile with the international investment community,” commented Peter Marrone, Yamana’s chairman and chief executive officer. “Our Main Market listing will provide an additional trading venue, build on the already considerable liquidity in the company’s shares on the Toronto and New York stock exchanges and broaden our marketing reach”.
Advisors to Yamana in connection with the Admission are Canaccord Adams Limited (financial adviser and broker), Charles Russell LLP (legal counsel) and Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP (legal counsel).
