Princess Royal Trust for Carers
The Trust is the leading charity working with carers helping people who without payment, provide help and support to a partner, child, relative, friend or neighbour, who cannot manage without help. This could be due to age, physical or mental illness, addiction or disability.
Why do carers need support?
There are six million carers in the UK today. Not all are adults; over 175,000 carers are under the age of 18, many of them very young children. Caring for someone can have a huge impact on peoples’ lives. Around 50% of carers juggle caring with work and the remaining 50% do not work and in many instances have had to give up work to care.
