The London Stock Exchange believes the implementing measures for the Transparency Directive, in particular the measure regarding regulated information dissemination, are important for the creation of a single market in Europe. Without a requirement for pan-European electronic dissemination of company announcements a great opportunity for EU-wide and cross-border investment will be lost. The implications of this are significant as EU companies will not benefit from lower costs of capital - one of the European Commission's key goals in financial services.
