London Stock Exchange welcomes GE Bond Issue

The London Stock Exchange this week welcomed new debt instruments with a combined value of nearly £2 billion from General Electric Capital Corp, one of the world’s largest and most highly-rated corporate debt issuers.

In the seven months to the end of July 2007 alone, issuers have raised more than £400 billion on the London Stock Exchange’s Main Market and Professional Securities market by listing nearly 3,000 debt securities ranging from medium-term notes to long-term debentures.

There are currently over 14,000 debt instruments listed on the Exchange’s markets, from more than 70 countries from around the world. The Exchange offers a choice of listed markets for debt, providing flexible solutions for debt issuers, while maintaining appropriate standards of investor protection.
