Newsroom I Welcome stories

6 February 2006

We are delighted to welcome Bodisen Biotech Inc. to AIM.

Bodisen is the leading Chinese company in the manufacture and distribution of environmentally friendly organic bio-fertilizers for China’s booming agricultural sector. Bodisen was founded in 2001 and was identified in 2006 by Forbes Magazine as the 16th fastest growing company in China. Bodisen is headed by Karen Qiong Wang, a former China Businesswoman of the Year.

Bodisen’s organic fertilizers restore nutrients to the soil rather than depleting it, thus helping to reverse decades of environmental degradation brought about by overfarming and the heavy use of synthetic chemical fertilizers. China is the world’s largest consumer of fertilizers and the country has about 900 million farmers. The Chinese government promotes the use of environmentally friendly organic fertilizers.

CEO Karen Qiong Wang said: “As the largest China-based company listed on AIM, our successful arrival represents an important step for Bodisen as we continue to expand our markets and maintain our strong earnings growth. Our shares were several times oversubscribed during our AIM pre-IPO placing and we highly appreciate the advice and professionalism of our bankers at Wall Street firm New York Global Group and our London broker and NOMAD Charles Stanley. China is experiencing a fundamental shift in the use of fertilizers from chemical fertilizers to organic based products such as Bodisen’s. Bodisen sees strong earnings growth in 2006 and beyond in a very favourable market environment.”
