The principal trading companies of the Legg Group comprise Dickinson Legg, a world leader in the manufacture and installation of primary tobacco processing equipment and Spooner, a specialist air drying equipment manufacturer for the paper, converting (plastic film, foil and textile) metals and food industries.
Dickinson Legg supplies primary tobacco processing equipment to most of the major global tobacco manufacturers and a large number of regional tobacco manufacturers from its manufacturing facilities in Winchester and its joint venture in Bangalore (India), Dickinson Fowler. In addition, it operates a profitable and cash generative wear parts and spare business for its installed equipment base from facilities in Andover and Richmond, Virginia (USA).
Spooner is based in Ilkley where it has a large manufacturing and assembly facility with an experienced work force. Spooner is also able to provide any specific equipment within its markets to full turnkey installation requirements. In addition, it provides concept design, engineering, manufacturing, shipping, installation and commissioning services
