ebookers.com provides a pan-European internet portal which offers a complete online travel service, including discount airfares with 120 airlines and accommodation deals with over 14,000 hotels worldwide.
The company sought a London listing at the request of its shareholders, the majority of whom are based in the UK. This will also enable pension funds that are restricted from investing in non-UK companies to invest in ebookers.com.
ebookers.com was established as a separate company in June 1999 as the technology and travel spin-off of Flightbookers plc and launched its current user-friendly website (www.ebookers.com) in September of the same year.
With its flotation on Nasdaq and the Neuer Markt in November 1999, ebookers.com has continued to expand across Europe. The company now has offices in the UK, France, Germany, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Denmark and Spain.
