Newsroom | The Exchange Welcomes

Berkeley Equities

A trading name of Berkeley Futures Limited as a member firm - 22 August 2001

Berkeley Futures Limited is happy to announce its membership to the London Stock Exchange. Business transacted through the exchange will be executed in the name of Berkeley Equities.

Berkeley is in the unique position to cater for an increasingly sophisticated retail investment market. Berkeley's background is in the Futures and Options markets where the precise attention to detail regarding risk management is of paramount importance. Now, with the increasing use of options and other derivative equity products like contracts for differences and universal stock futures, it is important that brokers understand both traditional stockbroking and derivative risk management. Berkeley has expertise in these areas.

At Berkeley a client may now trade shares in IBM, Barclays and Deutsche Telecom whilst at the same time conducting a foreign exchange transaction and hedging the trade through derivative contracts as well as having a speculative trade in, say, Cocoa futures all through Berkeley's central London dealing desk. Berkeley believes this wide ranging trading ability strengthens clients profit potential and allows for efficient use of derivative products to either short against or protect physical cash holdings.
