Today we welcome mmO2 onto our markets following the completion of its demerger from British Telecommunications (BT).
mmO2, a leading provider of mobile communications services in Europe, will be trading its shares under the symbol OOM. It has complete ownership of mobile network operators in 4 countries - the UK (BT Cellnet), Germany (Viag Interkom), the Netherlands (Telfort Mobiel) and Ireland (Digifone) and operations on the Isle of Man (Manx Telecom) and a European mobile internet portal business, Genie. In addition it has secured third generation mobile phone licenses in the UK, the Netherlands and Germany. mmO2 has approximately 17m customers and over 15,000 employees, with revenues for the year ended 31 March 2001 of 3.2bn.
