Newsroom | The Exchange Welcomes

Bede plc to techMARK - 6 November 2000

The Exchange is delighted to welcome Bede plc to techMARK - the London market designed to meet the unique requirements of innovative technology companies.

Durham-based Bede is a developing designer and manufacturer of specialist x-ray equipment and associated software. It is to the company's credit that manufacturers of compound and silicon semiconductors are increasingly relying on Bede's applications to monitor production quality.

Bede's short-term objectives include expanding its operational infrastructure, expanding its sales and distribution network, developing new markets, and pursuing strategic relationships. These factors will contribute to the achievement of the company's long-term goal of becoming the leading supplier of x-ray instruments in a broad range of applications and markets.

The company intends to use the proceeds from its flotation to develop its market potential, distribution channels and sales resources on a global level. Working capital will also be generated from the flotation proceeds. The company also has plans to re-locate its Durham base to a larger facility that can cope with increasing demand for Bede's products.
