Unique Broadcasting, founded in 1989 by Noel Edmonds, Tim Blackmore, Simon Cole and Michael Peacock, is one of Europe's leading providers of independently produced radio programming. The company produces around 650 hours of programmes each year, which it distributes to over 300 radio stations across Europe. Unique Broadcasting is the only independent production company to serve all five BBC domestic radio networks, the BBC World Service and most of Britain's commercial stations.
The company offers a range of programming through its Commercial Sales Department and provides background technology and expertise through its wholly owned subsidiary, Unique Facilities. In addition, Unique Broadcasting has announced joint ventures with MTV to form MTV Radio and with Ginger to form G-One. The Directors intend to use the proceeds from the floatation on these immediate and any future growth opportunities.
