Bernard Asher

Non-Executive Chairman

Bernard was an executive Director of HSBC Holdings from 1986 to 1998 and chairman of HSBC Investment Bank. In 1998 Bernard became non-executive vice chairman of Legal & General Group plc, chairman of Lonrho Africa plc and is currently a non-executive Director of Morgan Sindall plc and China Shoto plc. He is also the chairman of Liontrust Asset Management Holdings plc, a UK based equity investment fund, and non-executive Director of Hansard Global Investments plc.

Bernard has been the non-executive chairman since 7 July 2006.
 

Paul James Carter

Chief Executive Officer

Paul has worked in the field of insolvency for the whole of his career. Until he set up Debtcare in 1998 he was involved in corporate insolvency as a self employed consultant, and later consulted on personal insolvency. In the ten years since Paul set up Debtcare he has dedicated his time and effort into building a group of companies that has led to the formation of Debts.co.uk.

Paul has been a director of the Company since 29 December 2005.
 

Ian Guy

Chief Operating Officer
 
Ian spent 16 years at Black Horse Personal Finance Limited (formerly Chartered Trust & Savings Limited before it was acquired by Lloyds TSB) working within the personal finance sector.  During his time there he was responsible for 18 branches as well as credit and risk related matters. In 1999, he instigated a successful move for Chartered Trust into the broker referral industry. In 2001, when Lloyds TSB Asset Finance Limited acquired Chartered Trust, Ian became one of the new six regional directors within Black Horse Personal Finance Limited. In 2003, Ian took up a role within Bright Finance Limited as their Director of Lending.  On his departure in 2005, Ian founded Relax Finance Limited. Ian was elected to the Financial Industry Standards Associated (FISA) board in 2008.
 
Ian has been a director of the Company since 23 May 2008.
 

Carl Kroger

Sales and Marketing Director

Carl started his career within Lloyds TSB Bank plc and in 1996 was project manager responsible for the development and implementation of PC Banking as well as being involved in the development and implementation of large scale call centres within the UK. In 2001, Carl joined Citifinancial Limited as regional sales manager in the south west region. In 2003, Carl joined Firstplus Financial Group plc as a regional manager where he was responsible for their relationships with the majority of the UK's largest finance brokers. In 2005, he and Ian founded Relax Finance Limited.

Carl has been a director of the Company since 23 May 2008.
 

Trevor Moore

Finance Director

Trevor has operated at board level in a number of private companies in industry and financial services. Most recently he has worked with Ian and Carl at Relax Finance Ltd since October 2007 and prior to this was the Finance Director of a group of companies delivering mortgages and financial services advice. He  is also a director of several local charities.

Trevor has been a director of the company since 23 May 2008.

 

Stuart Richard Cumberland ACA

Strategic and Commercial Development Director

Stuart has extensive corporate finance and board level experience built up over 17 years with roles in Mazars and Ernst & Young and he subsequently founded the corporate finance department at Morley and Scott. Stuart is also the co-founder and a partner in Olivine Partners LLP, a specialist corporate finance and tax advisory practice based in London

Stuart has been a director of the Company since 5 May 2006.

 

Chris Steele

Non-executive director

Chris spent some 20 years as a stockbroker, as a partner with Kitcat & Aitken and then with County NatWest Wood Mackenzie before becoming a director of the Manchester Exchange Bank responsible principally for the fund management division and for group compliance. He was also non executive chairman of Nikko Fraser Green Asset Management. Latterly he founded City Insights, an investor relations consultancy and then worked in financial PR and corporate communications.

Chris has been a director of the Company since 14 May 2008
