The London Stock Exchange today welcomes Sports Stars Media (“SSM”) to mark the first day of trading in its shares on AIM.
The Company has been established with production facilities based in Portugal to produce animation sports series aimed at the worldwide children’s TV market and for related product licensing and is expected to benefit from the experience and expertise of two of its directors who have recently produced a television series for pre-school children currently airing in Portugal and Spain.
SSM intends to develop animation series based on leading sports and sporting personalities. For its first production, SSM has secured the exclusive rights to use the image of Portuguese manager, José Mourinho, for the purposes of developing and marketing an animation series and for related product merchandising. The series will be called “Mourinho and the Special Ones”.
The Company has raised £1.6m via a placing of 160,175,842 shares at 1p per share and makes its debut on AIM with a market capitalisation of £3.6m. The Company will utilise the proceeds to produce the MSO series and for general working capital purposes.
CEO of Sports Stars Media, Ruben Dias, says: “We are delighted to be joining AIM today and believe that this will allow us to develop a range of programmes to appeal to a worldwide audience. We are also proud to be the only Portugal-based company to be listed on AIM.”
