06/04/2011 The London Stock Exchange welcomes Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL) to the Professional Securities Market (PSM)

The London Stock Exchange welcomed Hoang Anh Gia Lai (HAGL), the first Vietnamese company to list on the London Stock Exchange and also the first Vietnamese incorporated company to issue equity outside Vietnam, to mark the March 23rd listing of its global depositary receipts on the Professional Securities Market. HAGL raised $60 million from its GDR offering.

HAGL started in 1993 as a small wooden furniture producer based in Gia Lai province, and has grown to become one of Vietnam's largest diversified companies. HAGL is now one of Vietnam's largest property developers, as well as being involved in forestry, minerals, rubber plantations and latex processing. HAGL has ambitions to expand its operations into other Southeast Asian countries. The company also owns the soccer club which bears its name and is the main distributor of Arsenal FC merchandise in Southeast Asia, following an agreement signed with the English club last year.
