29/05/2012 CFA Institute celebrates 50 years of the CFA program
CFA Institute, the global association of investment professionals that sets the standard for professional excellence, today celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the CFA Program at the London Stock Exchange. Following the first exam in 1963, 268 investment professionals were awarded the CFA charter. Nearly 50 years later, there are more than 100,000 charterholders in 137 countries and territories who practice the highest level of professional and ethical standards.
CFA Institute is a champion for ethical behaviour in investment markets and a respected source of knowledge in the global financial community. The ultimate goal of the organisation is to serve the greater good by creating an environment where investors’ interests come first, markets function at their best and economies grow.
To celebrate this anniversary, CFA Institute is opening and closing stock markets at 25 financial centres around the world. These ceremonies usher in a year-long celebration for CFA Institute to mark what has become the leading global education standard for aspiring investment professionals and the investment industry.
