The London Stock Exchange was opened by members of the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute and industry leaders on Monday 11th June to celebrate CFA Day and the 60th anniversary of the CFA Institute.
CFA Day was designed to give members and societies of CFA Institute an opportunity to celebrate being part of the investment profession. During June, more than 120 societies worldwide will facilitate CFA Day activities.
“Since the inaugural meeting 60 years ago, members of CFA Institute and its predecessor organizations have helped to transform the investment industry from a practice into a profession,” said Jeff Diermeier, CFA, president and CEO of CFA Institute.
Today, CFA Institute has 91,000 members, who include 78,000 CFA charterholder, from 134 countries and is recognized worldwide as the administrator of the “gold standard” for investment professionals – the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) examination program. The UK member society, the UK Society for Investment Professionals (UKSIP), has 7000 members.
