More On Investment Notes
BarCap, who are issuing the medium term notes, and Barclays Stockbrokers, who are bringing the innovative products to the market were in good attendance.
Giles Rothwell, Global Head of Investor Solution Sales at BarCap and Amy Nauiokas, CEO, Barclays Stockbrokers, got the balls rolling (see picture above) and opened the market for trading.
Barclays Capital is the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC which has an AA long-term credit rating and a balance sheet of over £986 billion. Barclays Capital set up its Investor Solutions team in 2003 to provide innovative structured products and solutions to third-party intermediaries for distribution on to retail investors. The team also creates bespoke structured products based on a wide range of underlying assets including equities, commodities, foreign exchange, inflation, fixed income, hedge funds and hybrids.
It is this expertise that has enabled Barclays Capital to partner with Barclays Stockbrokers, the retail stockbroking arm of Barclays Bank PLC, to launch Investment Notes, which will see retail investors directly accessing London Stock Exchange listed structured products for the first time. Investment Notes are designed to attract investors looking to complement their portfolios in volatile markets by offering specific returns and an element of capital protection at maturity. Investment Notes are available directly from Barclays Stockbrokers online and voice brokerage services.
Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, and Barclays Stockbrokers Limited is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority.
