This is Africa and the London Stock Exchange presents African Investment Summit, a full day event looking at Africa’s success to date and how it will grow its profile in the coming years.
In 2012, Africa finds itself at an important juncture in its development trajectory. The last decade has done much to reverse the Afro-pessimism that had long dominated perceptions of Africa’s economic, social and political potential.
Growing business confidence is being driven by sustained growth, high demand for commodities and an emerging middle class. Yet while Africa's status as a viable investment destination is increasing, capital flows remain low compared to other emerging and frontier economies, while the continent accounts for just two percent of global trade and less than five percent of FDI.
Featuring a combination of expert keynote addresses, lively panel discussions and in-depth case studies, the 2012 African Investment Summit will analyse Africa’s success to date, and explore what it will take to consolidate and accelerate its growing profile amongst the international business community in the coming years.
