During the past few years London has become the international market of choice for ambitious Middle Eastern and African companies looking to expand their businesses globally and trade alongside peers internationally.
With the recent GDR listing of the Lebanese bank, Byblos and with our first Kuwaiti and Qatari listings, Global MENA Financial Assets and Commercial Bank of Quatar last summer, there are now over 35 Middle Eastern companies on our markets.
African companies have been coming to London for over 60 years, with the most recent listing from Egyptian company, Palm Hills Developments SAE, a real estate company, in May last year, there are now over 50 African companies on our markets.
The Exchange has been exhibiting at the Indaba mining conference in Cape Town, South Africa since 2005 and most recently in February 2009, sharing a stand with Linklaters. Indaba provides the opportunity for represenatives from the Exchange to meet with existing listed or quoted companies as well as companies looking to join our markets.
