CIS and CEE

Since 1996, when Gazprom became the first Russian company to list its depositary receipts on the Main Market, over 100 other companies from the CIS region have joined our markets. In April 2008, we were delighted to welcome Magnit, one of the largest food retail chains in Russia, as the 100th company from the region to come to London.

Companies from the CIS region currently on our markets have a total market capitalisation of over US$242 billion. Trading volumes in CIS securities on our international order book (IOB) accounted for approximately $477 billion in 2008.

In addition, over 40 companies from the CEE region have joined our markets since the first Main Market listing from Komercni Banka in the Czech Republic in 1995, with the most recent being an AIM flotation from Croatian company Cubus Lux.
