Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills, Rt. Hon Vince Cable MP and David Gandy, WIE champion, open trading in London, celebrating the WIE 50 and international women's day

-       Joined by 50 top business women to open trading on London Stock Exchange

-       Celebrates second annual London Women Inspiration and Enterprise Symposium (WIE)

Today, 50 of the UK and Europe’s exceptional female business leaders and entrepreneurs were joined by the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills, Rt. Hon Vince Cable MP, and David Gandy, WIE champion, in a Market Open Ceremony celebrating International Women’s Day. The ceremony was part of the Women Inspiration and Enterprise ‘Power Breakfast’ event being held at London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) headquarters in Paternoster Square in association with Barclays Wealth and CNBC.

“London Stock Exchange is delighted to be hosting the second annual WIE 50 power breakfast honouring the achievements of 50 of the top female business leaders and entrepreneurs from across the UK and Europe.

“We were also very pleased to welcome Vincent Cable MP, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation & Skills and David Gandy, WIE champion, to open this morning’s trading in London, celebrating International Women’s Day and the entrepreneurship and accomplishments of the businesswomen here today.”

London Stock Exchange today played host to 50 leading business women and entrepreneurs, being honoured by WIE in recognition of their achievements. The Breakfast starts a day of celebrations being run by WIE, including a full day symposium and an evening event, designed to inspire and empower the next generation of women leaders.
